How to Install YakChat Using the Teams Admin Portal
It’s quick and easy to install YakChat into Microsoft Teams, using the Teams Admin Portal. Our handy step-by-step guide shows you how.
Instructions: Install YakChat, using the Microsoft Teams Admin Portal
Important: Make sure that you upload the .zip file into Microsoft Teams intact. It is most important that you do not extract any files contained in the .zip file, otherwise the installation process will fail, even if you re-compress the files into a new .zip file.
Because Safari browsers are often set to automatically extract .zip files, you must disable this setting. You can find Instructions on how to do that here.
To add the YakChat App to the Teams side bar, select Add apps in the Pinned apps section which you will find below the Installed Apps.
Type the word “Yak” into the Search by name box in the Add pinned apps popup.
Click the Add button to add the YakChat App, and then click Add at the bottom of the popup.
Select a user in the policy and/or Teams channel to check that the YakChat App and the Bot have been added correctly.
