How to Re-sign in to your YakBot #

Re-sign in to your YakBot in Teams Chat or a Teams Channel to receive notifications and reply to new messages. 

Instructions: Re-sign in to your YakBot within a Teams Chat or a Teams Channel #

Teams Chat YakBot #

1. Sign out #

Simply type “logout” or “Sign out” in the Type your questions here box in Teams.

The message confirmation “You have been signed out” will then be displayed when you have successfully signed out. 


How to sign out of YakBot

2. Sign in #

Click on the Sign-In button. Then use your Microsoft 365 account to sign in.

3. Authentication #

You will now see Microsoft’s authentication window.

Simply use your Microsoft Teams email and password to sign in. You will also use these to login to YakChat.

4. Confirmation #

YakBot will now ask you to type a message in the Type your questions here box in Microsoft Teams. This is just to confirm that everything is connected.


How to sign in to YakBot

Teams Channel YakBot #

1. Initiate YakBot #

Go to the Teams channel where YakBot is installed and select the New Conversation button. 

Type “@yakbot” in the Start a new conversation here box, click on the @YakBot contact suggestion and then click Send (or press Return)

If the Sign in adaptive card is displayed then go to Step 2.  If not then go to Step 3.

2. Sign in #

If the Sign in adaptive card is displayed then go to Step 3.  If not then go to Step 4.

3. Authentication #

You will now see Microsoft’s authentication window.

Simply use your Microsoft Teams email and password to sign in. You will also use these to login to YakChat.

After authentication type “@yakbot” again in the Start a new conversation here box, click on the @YakBot contact suggestion and then click Send (or press Return)

4. Attach to Shared # #

The bot will display the email address and number of the Shared numbers in your subscription.  Select the radio button beside the required Shared number to link the bot to the Teams channel and click the Add button.

5. Quick Check #

To check the bot is working, simply type “@yakbot” again in the Start a new conversation here box, click on the @YakBot contact suggestion and then click Send (or press Return).

This time YakBot should respond with the adaptive card requested the number send the text to which means you are now signed in correctly.
