Create a New Message
Send a New Text Message
There are 2 ways to send a new text:
The first way is to select the New Message button in the Messages tab.
Enter the Contact’s Number or Name
Then type the number that you wish to send a text to or the name of the contact saved in the YakChat contact store.
Search for contacts in your Directory or in Outlook by selecting the source from the Contacts drop down list and then typing the name or number to search for the contact.
Click on the contact in the search results or press Return to add the contact.
Add Multiple Contacts
Another contact can be added to receive the message by repeating the process again.

Send a New Text Message, Using the Contacts Tab
The second way to send a text message is by using the Contacts tab.
Go to the Contacts tab and right-click on the contact you want to send a message to.
Then select Send Message.
Text Several Contacts at Once
Highlight the multiple contacts you wish to contact by pressing the Ctrl key on your keyboard and using your mouse to select each contact.
Right-click on any of the highlighted contacts to display the Action menu.
Select the menu option Send Message to send a text to all the selected contacts.
The Messages tab will be displayed and contain the conversation for that group of contacts.
Compose Message
Compose a Text Message
Type the message you wish to send in the Type a message box.
Use your keyboard to add a new line in the message if required using Shift+Return.

Send Your Text Message
Click on the Send button or press Return on your keyboard to send the message.
The status of the text will be shown in the lower right corner of the message bubble.
Send a Picture
Add a Picture
Click on the picture icon to add a picture to the text.
Select the picture file to add to the text message and click on the Open button.
Send Your Picture
Send the picture using Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS).
Include Emojis
You can include Emojis in your text message by selecting the smiley face icon and then selecting your preferred emoji.
Archive Conversations
Archive a Text Conversation
To remove a conversation from the Messages window, right-click on the conversation to display the Action window and select Archive.
Archive Multiple conversations
Highlight the conversations you wish to archive by pressing the Ctrl key on your keyboard and using your mouse to select each conversation.
Right-click on any of the highlighted contacts to display the Action menu.
Select the menu option Archive to archive the selected messages.
The Messages tab will be displayed and contain the conversation for that group of contacts.
View Your Archived conversations
Click on the drop down menu in the Messages tab and select Archive to view the archived conversations.
Unarchive Your Conversations
Go to the Archive tab to display archived conversations.
Messages can still be sent to Archived conversations in the same way as conversations in MyInbox.
